Ode of thanks!: Practicing gratitude

  • Tell someone how much you appreciate them
  • Be kind to a stranger
  • Leave a nice tip for a service worker

Defining and setting boundaries helps to establish personal expectations that you will hold towards yourself and others. It helps to ensure that there are mutual understandings around limitations, and accountability.

Things you can try:

  • Keep your work-life and home-life separate
  • Limit your use of social media
  • Know what you will and won't tolerate from others
  • Learn to keep some things to yourself

Solo time: Spending time alone doesn't make you lonely

Sometimes we just need time to ourselves.  Developing the ability to enjoy your own company takes time and practice.  This time away helps you to arrive closer at the you that no one else sees.

Things you can try:

  • Unplug from technology for a period of time
  • Create a bucket list
  • Dedicate 1 day to doing something new that's just for you
  • Take a solo trip (local or elsewhere)
